Parenting Education

WHO IT’S FOR:

  • Families with young children (birth to age 5)
  • New moms and dads
  • Teen parents
  • Grandparents raising grandchildren
  • Foster parents of children birth to age 5

WHY IT MATTERS:

Being the parent of a baby, toddler or preschooler can be challenging. Understanding more about child development and positive parenting can help you do your best to support your child’s healthy development and grow confidence in your parenting skills. And that can make a big difference for you, your child and your entire family.

WHAT IT IS:

Parents of young children attend a free series of group classes over a number of weeks. Classes are led by trained parent educators and discuss a variety of topics, such as, positive parenting practices, self regulation, development, and early language and literacy. Parenting education classes are a great way to connect with other families with young children while feeling more confident in your role as a parent.

Contact the parenting education program in your area to learn more and how you can participate.
